Blogging Again
“Honey, I'm thinking about starting another blog.” My husband looked over at me and smiled, “Oh yeah?” “Well," I continued, "Sometimes God gives me thoughts on things and I love to share them. Since there’s a limit to the amount of people that I can have coffee with each week, writing my thoughts in a blog means I can share it with more people.” He nodded and then asked, “Do you read any blogs?” I laughed and admitted, “No, not really.” He smiled again, “Well, if you’ve thought and prayed about it and think this is what God wants you to do, then go for it.”
So, here I am starting another blog. I named it, “The Joy Journey” because I read a few intriguing articles last year about Randy Alcorn’s book “Happiness.” He discussed how the Bible more or less uses joy and happiness interchangeably. He makes the argument that many Christians aren’t happy because they don’t believe that God himself is happy. Based on that belief, they struggle to believe that God wants them to be happy. I was super interested in these ideas and it sent me on a joy journey!
Since, then I’ve been searching through the Bible, and reading different books and articles about joy and happiness. The Lord has been teaching me a lot and I want to pass some of it on! Sadly, we can’t all have coffee together. But my hope is that while reading this blog, it feels like you are pulling up a chair and leaning in to hear what God is teaching your friend. Thanks for reading!
